Our GN 9120 was the first completely wireless headset that can be used up to 300 feet from its charging base. Unlike many other wireless headsets, there is no beltpack or pocket pod. Everything goes on your head, but it weighs less than two ounces -- less than many wired headsets. You can wear your 9120 comfortably, all day long.
It combines unprecedented roaming range and talk time in a sophisticated, customizable and lightweight design, with up to eight hours of talk time. The headset also offers built-in conferencing capability, which eliminates the hassles of being confined to a conference room and yelling into a speakerphone.
►Multi-headset Conferencing
Multi-headset conferencing enables up to four GN 9120 users to be part of
a conference call. Once a connection has been
established, people wishing to participate in the call simply synch their
headsets to the same charging base. The originator will be notified
through a beep on his or her headset that other people are ready to
participate in the call, and then they can be allowed in. People who are
granted access will experience a clear conference call while
having the freedom to spread out within a 300-foot range, instead of having
to hover around a speaker.
►Secure Communications
The GN 9120 transmits in the 2.4 GHz frequency band and uses the Digital Spread
Spectrum protocol initially developed for secure military communications.
The signal switches channels 90 times each second, providing security and
privacy while ensuring that the phone conversation does not interfere with other signals
in the 2.4 GHz spectrum, such as WiFi networks. To
further enhance security, the GN 9120 features 64-bit digital encryption and
uses intelligent power management, which automatically regulates the signal
strength according to how far the unit is from its base. This averts
interception by allowing the signal to go no further than it needs to go.
Radio transmission at 2.4GHz is particularly good at penetrating dense walls
and floors.
| ►Audible Indicators
(sounds in your headset) There are a number of sounds that your headset will make to indicate various connection status: |
|
| If you move out of range, a tone will sound in your headset. Calls in progress are not disconnected but will be put on hold. When you move back within range, your conversation will be re-established. |
►Controls on the headset
Convenient controls allow for sound quality adjustments anywhere
within the 300-foot range. Tone control customize
incoming voices for your hearing preference: neutral, bass boost or treble
boost. Mute temporarily disables
the transmit of your voice while on a call.
►Three types of microphones
Choose the futuristic midi-boom or sound tube if your are in a quiet
environment, or the noise canceling model if you need to minimize transmitting
ambient noise or nearby voices.
►On your head or on your ear
The GN 9120 can be used in two convenient wearing styles. In addition to
a secure over-the-head format, it can be worn directly on one ear. Weight is
less than 2 ounces with either style.
►"On the Air" indication
Both the headset and the charging base have red LEDs that flash when you
are speaking, to minimize interruptions from nearby co-workers or family
members.
►Remote pickup and hangup
Some phones require that you pick up the handset to use a headset.
By pairing the 9120 with the GN 1000 Remote
Handset Lifter, you can start and end calls anywhere within the headset's range
by tapping a button on the earpiece. You'll hear a tone in your headset when a call comes in. Without the Remote Lifter, you'll have to use your phone's buttons to initiate and
terminate conversations.
